1. Introduction
QuickPin is a mobile application designed to help users find, save, organize, and revisit places.
Your privacy matters to us, particularly because saved locations may reveal personal interests, habits, or other sensitive information.
This Privacy Policy explains what personal information QuickPin collects, how we use it, how it is stored and shared, and the choices and rights available to you.
This policy applies to the QuickPin application for iOS and Android and related application services. The public QuickPin website may have a separate privacy policy available at https://quickpin.app/web-privacy.
Data Controller
QuickPin is operated by an individual based in Greece:
Legal name:
Country: Greece
Business address:
Privacy contact:
The identified operator is responsible for determining how and why personal information is processed through QuickPin.
2. Minimum Age
QuickPin is intended for individuals who are at least 16 years old.
Individuals under 16 are not permitted to register for or use an account.
During registration, we may ask users to confirm their age or provide age information necessary to determine eligibility.
We aim to collect only the information reasonably necessary to confirm age eligibility. Where an age declaration is recorded, we may retain a corresponding timestamp and registration record.
If we learn that an account belongs to someone under 16, we may restrict access and take appropriate steps concerning the account and associated personal information.
Where applicable laws require additional safeguards, parental authorization, or a different age-verification process, we will apply those requirements before offering the relevant service.
3. Personal Information We Collect
3.1 Account information
When you register or maintain an account, we may collect and process:
- Email address.
- Account identifier.
- First name, last name, or display name, when provided.
- Authentication information and session records.
- Account creation and modification dates.
- Registration declarations and policy acknowledgment records.
Authentication may use email verification, one-time passwords, or other supported login methods.
Passwords, where used, are managed through our authentication provider rather than being stored as readable passwords in our application database.
3.2 Saved locations
When you save a place, we process information associated with that location.
Depending on the feature and source, this may include:
- Google Place ID.
- User-created location labels.
- Favorite status.
- Location identifiers and related metadata.
- Location names, addresses, or coordinates obtained temporarily from mapping services.
- Folder or organizational information where supported.
- Information associated with the date and ownership of a saved location.
Saved places can reveal sensitive information about a person's activities or interests.
A saved place does not necessarily represent your current physical location or indicate that you have visited that place.
3.3 Location searches and imported links
When you search for places or share a location from Google Maps or another supported application, we may process:
- Search queries.
- Shared location links.
- Business or location identifiers.
- Selected addresses and coordinates.
- Information required to identify the intended place.
This information may be transmitted to third-party mapping providers to process your request.
3.4 Technical and security information
When you use QuickPin, we and our technical service providers may process information such as:
- IP address.
- Device operating system and app version.
- Request timestamps.
- Session and authentication metadata.
- Network and server errors.
- Security-related events.
- Information required to prevent unauthorized access or misuse.
The availability and extent of diagnostic information may depend on the device, operating system, application build, and infrastructure configuration.
3.5 Usage limits
QuickPin may process usage information to apply service limits and protect infrastructure resources.
This may include counts of saved locations, requests to mapping services, and relevant usage periods.
We use this information for service delivery, quota enforcement, security, and operational management.
3.6 Information stored locally
QuickPin may use device storage, including SQLite and secure or other operating-system storage mechanisms where supported, to maintain application state, session-related information, and locally available data.
Locally stored information may remain on your device until removed by the application, account actions, or operating-system processes.
Clearing application data or uninstalling QuickPin does not necessarily delete information associated with your online account.
4. How We Use Information
We process personal information to:
- Create and manage QuickPin accounts.
- Authenticate users and maintain secure sessions.
- Allow users to search for and save places.
- Synchronize saved locations across supported application sessions.
- Support importing locations from Google Maps and other applications.
- Retrieve relevant location details from mapping services.
- Apply usage limits and prevent abuse.
- Maintain, troubleshoot, and improve application reliability.
- Respond to support requests.
- Process account and data-deletion requests.
- Comply with applicable legal obligations.
- Protect the security and integrity of our services.
We will provide additional information and obtain any legally required permission before introducing materially different uses of personal information.
5. Legal Bases for Processing
Where the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), UK GDPR, or similar legislation applies, our legal bases depend on the processing activity.
Performance of a contract
We process account information, authentication data, saved locations, and necessary mapping requests to provide the services requested by users.
Legitimate interests
We may process limited technical, security, and usage information to prevent abuse, protect accounts, diagnose failures, and operate the service reliably, where our interests are not overridden by individuals' rights.
Compliance with legal obligations
We process information when necessary to satisfy applicable legal duties.
Consent
Where consent is required for a specific activity, such as certain optional tracking or marketing, we will request it separately.
Acknowledgment of this Privacy Policy is not blanket consent to unrelated personal-data processing.
Where processing relies on consent, you may withdraw it without affecting processing previously carried out lawfully.
6. Google Maps and Google Places
QuickPin integrates with Google Maps Platform services, including Google Places and mapping-related functionality.
Google services help users search for locations, resolve shared places, obtain place details, and access mapping information.
When using Google-powered features, relevant queries, location identifiers, coordinates, links, and associated technical request information may be transmitted to Google.
Google may process that information according to its own policies.
Google's Privacy Policy is incorporated by reference for Google-powered features:
https://policies.google.com/privacy
Google's Terms of Service are available at:
https://policies.google.com/terms
Google Maps Platform services impose restrictions on the storage, caching, reuse, and presentation of certain information.
QuickPin's storage and retrieval of Google-derived information are subject to those applicable restrictions. Google Place IDs may be stored on a continuing basis as permitted by Google's applicable terms, while other Google-derived place details may need to be retrieved again or handled under limited caching permissions.
Information independently entered by users is treated separately from information received from Google.
Google Maps and Places content may be incomplete, inaccurate, or unavailable.
7. Other Service Providers
Supabase
QuickPin uses Supabase for backend services, including account authentication, database storage, and server-side operations.
Supabase's Privacy Policy:
QuickPin's primary Supabase database is hosted in the EU North (Stockholm) region.
The location of our primary database does not guarantee that every service-related processing activity or authorized provider operation takes place exclusively within that region.
Apple and Google mobile platforms
QuickPin is distributed through supported mobile platforms.
Apple and Google may independently process information relating to app installation, distribution, platform services, purchases if introduced, and operating-system functionality under their respective privacy policies.
Operational providers
We may rely on hosting, infrastructure, communications, security, or technical support providers where necessary to operate the application.
We require appropriate data-protection safeguards from providers processing personal information on our behalf when applicable law requires them.
8. Sharing Your Information
QuickPin is designed for managing personal collections of locations.
We do not provide a feature intended to make your entire saved-location collection publicly available.
Access to account information and saved locations is intended to be restricted to the authorized account holder and operational processes with a legitimate need for access.
We may share limited information with:
- Authentication and infrastructure providers.
- Mapping providers when you request location-related functionality.
- Technical service providers needed to operate the application.
- Authorities where disclosure is legally required.
- Professional advisers where reasonably necessary and lawful.
- A successor operator in a lawful acquisition or business restructuring, subject to applicable privacy protections.
We do not currently operate an in-app advertising network or use saved-location histories for behavioral advertising.
We do not sell users' saved-location information to data brokers.
If our practices change, we will revise this Policy and provide any legally required notices or choices.
9. Location Privacy
Location information deserves particular protection because it can reveal personal circumstances.
QuickPin processes the places you choose to search for, import, or save.
A saved place is not automatically evidence of where you are currently located.
The application's core location-saving features do not require continuous background tracking of your device's physical position.
If we introduce a feature requiring device location permission, we will explain the purpose and request the appropriate permission before accessing that information.
You can manage permissions through the settings provided by your mobile operating system.
We do not intentionally publish private account location collections to other users.
10. Data Retention
We retain information for periods appropriate to the purposes for which it was collected and any applicable legal or contractual requirements.
Account information: Generally retained while an account remains active and subsequently processed for deletion, subject to legitimate legal or security retention requirements.
Saved locations: Generally retained until the user deletes a location or their account, subject to applicable technical and legal requirements.
Registration declarations: Retained as reasonably necessary to document age eligibility, acceptance of applicable Terms, acknowledgment of the Privacy Policy, or compliance with legal obligations.
Usage information: Retained for the period necessary to administer applicable limits, investigate misuse, and maintain operational integrity.
Security and technical logs: Retained according to applicable infrastructure configurations, security needs, and service-provider policies.
Support communications: Retained for as long as needed to resolve the request and comply with any applicable obligations.
Backups and recovery data: Information may remain temporarily in backup or recovery systems until the relevant deletion cycle is completed.
The Supabase Free plan does not provide automatic daily database backups as a plan feature. However, that does not establish the retention periods for every provider-managed copy, log, or separately created export.
We do not represent that all information is immediately and irreversibly erased from every system when a deletion request is submitted.
Where more specific retention information is required by applicable law, we will provide or publish the relevant retention criteria and periods.
11. Account Deletion and Data Removal
Users may request deletion of their QuickPin account and associated personal information.
Where available, account deletion can be initiated through the application's account or settings interface.
You may also contact us using the privacy contact information at the end of this Policy.
When a valid deletion request is received, we take appropriate steps to:
- Delete or deactivate the account as required.
- Remove saved locations associated with the account.
- Remove associated profile information.
- Address account authentication records.
- Delete or de-identify other personal information where required.
- Retain only information for which continued processing has a lawful basis.
We may verify that a deletion request comes from the authorized account holder.
Some information may remain temporarily in backups, technical logs, or records that must be retained for a legitimate legal reason.
Deletion requests are processed within applicable statutory deadlines.
Uninstalling the application without requesting account deletion does not automatically delete the account.
12. Your Privacy Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights to:
- Request access to personal information.
- Correct inaccurate information.
- Request deletion.
- Request restriction of processing.
- Object to certain processing.
- Receive certain information in a portable format.
- Withdraw consent where applicable.
- Opt out of legally defined sales, targeted advertising, or qualifying profiling activities.
- Challenge or appeal certain privacy decisions where the law provides that right.
- Complain to a competent data-protection authority.
We may request information necessary to verify your identity before fulfilling certain requests.
We will respond within the period required by applicable law.
13. International Data Transfers
Although QuickPin's primary Supabase database is hosted in the European Union, some processing by service providers may occur in other jurisdictions.
Where applicable law restricts international personal-data transfers, we will use appropriate lawful transfer mechanisms and safeguards.
These may include applicable adequacy decisions, contractual protections, or other legally recognized arrangements.
You may request information about applicable safeguards through our privacy contact.
14. Privacy of Users Aged 16–17
QuickPin permits eligible users aged 16 and 17 to create accounts, subject to applicable regional requirements.
We recognize that users under 18 may be entitled to additional protections.
Our approach includes:
- Personal saved locations that are not intended to be public by default.
- No current behavioral-advertising system based on saved locations.
- Collection of information appropriate to the application's functions.
- Access to account and information-deletion options.
- Additional age-related restrictions where required by law.
We do not treat a declaration of being 16 or older as a waiver of legal protections available to minors.
If local law requires further safeguards before an individual can use QuickPin, those requirements will apply.
15. Security
We use technical and organizational measures intended to protect personal information.
These include server-side access controls, authentication, and security protections supplied through our infrastructure.
We seek to limit access to account and saved-location records to authorized users and operations.
However, no electronic service can guarantee absolute security.
If we identify a personal-data breach, we will assess it and provide notifications to affected individuals or authorities when required by applicable law.
Users should protect their login credentials and notify us if they suspect unauthorized access.
16. Automated Processing
QuickPin may automatically apply service usage limits, authentication checks, and technical safeguards.
These automated operations are intended to support normal service delivery and security.
We do not currently use saved-location information to make automated decisions intended to determine eligibility for credit, employment, insurance, housing, or similarly significant opportunities.
17. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy when our application, providers, processing activities, or legal obligations change.
We will update the date shown at the beginning of this document.
Where changes materially affect your rights or require additional consent, we will provide an appropriate notice or request permission as required by law.
Previous acknowledgments of an older version do not automatically constitute consent to unrelated new processing activities.
